Life has been more than crazy over the last few months. I am hoping things settle down soon. Now that that is out of the way lets get on to the fun stuff! The Sims 4 and building!!

Last month The Sims 4 came out with their newest free base game update. There are a few big things to note. The first is they now have "Story Mode." You use this new mode when you are in the place where you "Create a NEW Sims". The cool thing about the story mode, if you choose to use it, is by answering ten questions the game will assign traits and aspirations to new Sims you make.

Why is this a good thing?

If you are a bit of a control freak, your Sims start to have the same jobs, look the same, and sometimes it's just hard to make an insane Sim. Sometimes.

You can pick a different question if you do not like the one you see. Not that I have ever used it. I only touched it for the screenshot. 😆

Once you answer all ten questions your new Sim will have a few levels in some skills. The game might assign you a job. Last, you could start your game with more simoleons then the normal 20,000.

Many people were building off-site trait and asperation generators. Most of the time of offsite generators didn't work or were overly complicated.

Having an in-game generator makes so much sense. It will keep people in their game longer. The longer you play the game, the more you will want different things to play within the game. Smart marketing!

Speaking of wanting more things to build with!

Another update that came to the base game last month was over 1000 new DeBug items. What are debug items? The best thing ever! They are items that are put into the Sims worlds. Trees, flowers, trains, cups, etc that you can see in the game but you can not purchase from the building section. To access these items, you need to use in-game cheats.

Yes, The Sims 4 encourages you to use cheats. I find it weird but I use the cheats so I'm not complaining one bit. 😇

The way you need to get to the debug items is to have your game open and in build or play mode:

Type Ctrl + C+ Enter
This will open up a big white window in the upper left corner of your game.
Type bb.showhiddenobjects + Enter
will be typed in next. Nothing will show in the window after you hit enter. This is normal.

Type bb.showliveeditobjects + Enter
The new items will now show up in your build and buy section.
Type Ctrl + C+ Enter
This will close the cheat window.

Now that you have the newest cheat on, but don't believe me because when you typed them they didn't show up, go to the Build and Buy mode in your game.

In the search bar, shown below, type in **debug** and hit Enter.

You will now see the entire debug menu. Most of the items are free to use. Some costs simoleons. If you are building on a budget just be careful of the cost.

One other thing to note about the debug items is, MOST are just decorations. This means you can use that cool new chair you found to just look pretty but your Sim can not sit on it. Most debug items your Sim will walk right through so be careful when using them to build.

Last but not least is the newest house I finished the other day. The shell of the house was originally used in a challenged @Simgirl and I did. You can see her post Simgirlandsnook's Sims House Swap #1 for how Simgirl decorated it.

I changed a few things such as the roof and the inside floorplans. I ended up having a lot of fun building it. Having a family to decorate the house for made it even ......... funner! 😹
