Landed on a desert planet that had very few caves, though found one and quickly went inside to explore. Some planets have alot of these caves but this one was more of a rarity.
There was hazardous flora that I collected the sodium and oxygen from, but had to battle a sentinel as it discovered me harvesting. After killing it the combat supplies pod rolled down a hill and I could not get to it easily. So I moved on and harvested some cobalt as I exited the cave. There were vortex cubes as well at the base of the cave where the water table meets the tunnels.
I found more cobalt there as well to collect, its common underground but hard to find top side. And since there are so few caves I really needed to harvest quite a bit. Once its easier to planet hop it wont be so much of an issue.
Collecting minerals is quite important, though finding the right ones can be hard. I think storing them would be a good idea when I find a more permanent outpost. For now ill just collect it, refine it and get it for sale if I cannot use it to recharge items on my suit or ship. Maybe when my spaceship has more space it wont be so much of an issue but for now ill need to wisely watch out how much I collect.
