The Steem Sister Show - Episode 68 // Our Relationships with Our Cell Phones - Part Two!

in dtube •  6 years ago

Welcome to the 68th episode of the Steem Sister Show!

Your hosts are @coruscate and @maryjaney. Two sisters bringing fun content to the Steem blockchain.

Topic of this Episode –Our Relationship With Our Cell Phones - Part Two

We had so many questions on this episode - that we decided to split it into a two parter!

Here are the questions we answered this episode.

  • Do you think smartphones have more of a positive or negative impact on your life?

  • @fitrianizar – What is the real reason for someone playing with their phone when sitting next to their friend? Does it mean the conversation is not going well?

  • @jeffjagoe – Apple or Android?

  • What do you do if someone is spending a lot of time on their phone when they are hanging out with you?

  • Ultimatum: Would you prefer a life with or without your smart phone?

What is the Steem Sister Show All About?

We aim to bring more “non-crypto” related content to the Steem Blockchain. Although there is nothing wrong with this kind of content (@coruscate even posts on crypto related material sometimes) – we want to help create a better onboarding experience for new users. We talk a lot about attracting new users to the platform – but if the trending page is filled with crypto posts and flagging wars, they are likely to lose interest quickly.

We hope that by creating content that is more similar to what they are used to seeing on other social media sites – they will feel more excited about being here and creating content of their own!

How Does It Work?

We pick a different topic every episode, and then throw totally random questions about that topic in a hat and go back and forth. We always have a mix of our own questions and some audience questions. Our rule is that we cannot tell each other our answers before filming! So you guys are getting our raw, unfiltered reactions here.

Every episode we announce the next week’s topic so people can submit questions.

Want to win some Steem??

If we chose to answer your question in the next show… we will send you 2 Steem!

Next Week’s Topic: Tips on How to Save Money Every Single Day

Mary and I have both been trying to save more money lately (hence the lack of sushi references... we miss it too much), SO we thought it would be fun to chat all about some of our money saving hacks! From reducing our regular monthly expenses, to strategies for saving money with groceries and eating out - we are excited to spill the tea on all of it.

So send us your questions! If we choose to answer your question during that episode - we'll send you 2 steem!

That’s a Wrap!

We really hope you guys enjoyed this episode as we expanded on the topic of cell phones in our current society. Now get off your phone and stop spending so much time watching the Steem Sister Show! ;)

With Love,

The Steem Sisters

I know one nutter who keeps his phone in monochrome to reduce anxiety. I tried it. It was fine until my first phonecall and I couldn't tell which way was accept or reject wout the green and red colours!

Here's three questions for you for yer money saving show...

  1. Take your daily average spend on take out coffee (or any other daily luxury) and multiply it by 365, then multiply that figure by 50.... that'll give you your rough future lifetime expenditure on coffee/ whatever luxury item.
  2. Next work out how many years on yr current annual salaries after tax it would take you to earn that amount.
  3. If you could save 90% of yer income and get used to living off 10%, how many years would it take you to save up enough to retire?

Well they're sort of questions! More like motivational thinking tools to help you cut down.

My favourite money saving tip: challenge yerself to have a certain amount of 'no spend days' in any one month or year! (Obvs that doesn't count regular outgoing payments).

If you can beat Dan Suelo (look him up) I'll be impressed.

Just call me Karl if the steem name's too much of a damn mouthful btw.

Wooohoo! Thanks for answering my question :) and thanks a lot for the STEEM!

I’m an Apple guy as well. It’s pretty hard to beat the ease of use of the iOS system... and the photos on my iPhone 8 are awesome.

but just an FYI, it’s like Jay-Go 😜... you were much closer than some of the things I hear though!
