Same here, I have leghorns that tromp through the ice and snow like nothing, their hot feet melting it as they take their steps. Chickens are very strong, and warm birds. Then again, we only get to -10 here at the maximum. If it were -30 I doubt my leghorns would be out...

Your roof is lovely. Bet it takes some maintenance though. And why is maintain spelled differently from maintenance? I should know things like that, being a linguist, ha ha.
I'm keeping away from Steem price convos for the most part and trying simply to forget about it and keep posting and engaging. Coming up to one year now on the platform for me. I've grown so much through finding this place. Long may it continue!

We used to live in the thatched cottage, but a friend lives there now as we built the new house next door. We had the roof done a few years ago and it's supposed to last about 40 years! I may not have to worry about the next time.
I think the Steem price is not the most important thing, but it is a factor in gaining and keeping users. It has to rise for a reason rather than just speculation. I hope recent developments will contribute to that. It looks like the community is pulling together and working with Steemit.

Funny I was just thinking the same thing last night while musing on how little one earns on steem.
Truth is it doesn't matter... it's the social aspect that counts as you say... so many intelligent alt people on here.
I-ve always been suspicious of the capitalist motive behind steem... I've long believed the Whales are mostly a fetter on steem.
Right before this becomes a rant I is gonna go out and enjoy the sun.

I was at the pub music night until 1am, so didn't get up in time to run.
I see what I earn here as potential for later. For now I worry more about growing the platform and that should add value eventually.
