Both parents need to be on the same page if a couple wants to parent consistently. Consistency starts when both parents agree upon a shared vision and hold the same values about important topics.
Don't wait until after you have had your first child to have these conversations. Start now!
The following are some of the topics you and your spouse should discuss:
- What forms of discipline are age appropriate?
- How much screen time is acceptable?
- What values should be taught?
- How much money should you spend on your child?
- How do you teach your child to be financially wise?
- Will you implement a curfew?
- How will cell phone/smartphone use be moderated?
- How will you manage bedtime?
This is just a short list of topics that should be discussed.
Share with us in the comments section other topics that are important to talk about.
