Hello Steemians and Dtubers friends!

How are you? Today I have something new to share with you! I'll start sharing travel videos with you! What do you think of the idea?

For this I created this tag: #travelwithcarol where you can follow all my videos related to travel that I will do, where I will make known to all beautiful places of ** Portugal **. And later, videos from other countries!!!

So for my first video I chose the beautiful city of ** Lamego **. I chose this city because it has a historical and monumental beauty.

Tudo bem com vocês? Hoje tenho uma novidade para todos! Vou começar a partilhar videos de viagem com vocês! Que acham da ideia?
Para isso criei esta tag: #travelwithcarol onde podem seguir todos os meus videos relacionados com viagens que irei fazer, onde irei dar a conhecer a todos sítios lindíssimos de Portugal. E mais tarde, quem sabe de outros países!!!

Então para o meu primeiro vídeo escolhi a lindíssima cidade de Lamego. Escolhi esta cidade por possuir uma beleza histórica e monumental.

** Lamego ** is a Portuguese city that belongs to the ** District of Viseu **, being the second largest city of this District. It is integrated in the Douro Demarcated Region, a beautiful region that I recommend everyone to visit one day (maybe I make a video of this spectacular Marvel of Portugal, who knows?)

It is a very old city, from the time of the Romans. It is said that it was in this city that D.Afonso Henriques (1st king of Portugal) was acclaimed king of Portugal.

This city has several religious monuments (you can see some of these monuments during the video), they are the ** Cathedral of Lamego **, the Church of Saint Peter of Balsemão, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies...

Lamego é uma cidade portuguesa que pertence ao Distrito de Viseu, sendo a segunda maior cidade deste Distrito. Está integrada na Região Demarcada do Douro, uma região lindíssima que aconselho a todos a visitar um dia, e talvez faça um vídeo desta espetacular Maravilha de Portugal.

É uma cidade bastante antiga, do tempo dos romanos. Diz-se que foi nesta cidade que D.Afonso Henriques (1º rei de Portugal) foi aclamado rei de Portugal.

Esta cidade possui diversos monumentos religiosos (que vão puder ver alguns desses monumentos durante o vídeo), são eles a Sé Catedral de Lamego, a Igreja de São Pedro de Balsemão, o Santuário da Nossa Senhora dos Remédios...

The ** Cathedral of Lamego ** was built in the 12th century, more precisely in 1129. The dominant style is Gothic and has a Catholic Church inside.

A Sé Catedral de Lamego foi construída no século XII, mais propriamente em 1129. O estilo dominante é o Gótico e possui uma igreja católica no seu interior.

The ** Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies ** is of the baroque style. Inside you can see the image of Our Lady of Remedies carved in wood.
In its exterior as you can see in the photo below, stands out the enormous staircase that gives access to the sanctuary. This staircase consists of 686 steps! It is huge!

O Santuário da Nossa Senhora dos Remédios é do estilo barroco. No seu interior podem ver a imagem da Nossa Senhora dos Remédios esculpida em madeira.
No seu exterior como podem ver na fotos abaixo, destaca-se a enorme escadaria que dá acesso ao santuário. Esta escadaria é constituída por 686 degraus! É enorme!

In Lamego you can also enjoy the beautiful ** Garden of Avenida Visconde Guedes Teixeira **. This garden has a lake in the center, full of trees, which gives it enough shade.

Em Lamego podem também apreciar o belíssimo Jardim da Avenida Visconde Guedes Teixeira. Este jardim possui um lago no centro, cheio de árvores, o que lhe dá bastante sombra.

In this garden you can see two statues, called Statues of the "Cochicho". These were created by the School of Belas Artes of Porto, represent two female figures that hold two pitchers through which water lines fall, which then form the great lake. If you look closely at these statues it gives you the feeling that they are telling a secret to each other, hence the designation "Cochicho" of the verb "Cochichar", a popular expression widely used in Trás-os-Montes.

Neste jardim podem observar duas estátuas, chamadas de **Estátuas do "Cochicho". **Estas foram criadas pela Escola de Belas Artes do Porto, representam duas figuras femininas que seguram dois cântaros por onde caem fios de água, que depois formam o grande lago. Se observarem bem estas estátuas dá a sensação que estão a contar um segredo uma à outra, daí a designação "Cochicho" do verbo "Cochichar", uma expressão popular muito utilizada em Trás-os-Montes.

Lamego is not only known for its monuments, but also for its gastronomy! Among the best known dishes are the brave rabbit, the roasted goat. "Bôlas" of ham, vinha d'alhos, chicken, pork sausage, teixeira biscuit.
Below you can see a lady selling the Teixeira biscuit, a much-sold candy in the north of Portugal.

Lamego não é só conhecido pelos seus monumentos, mas também pela sua gastronomia! De entre os pratos mais conhecidos estão o coelho bravo, o cabrito assado. As "Bôlas" de fiambre, presunto, vinha d'alhos, atum, frango, enchidos de porco, biscoito da Teixeira.
Em baixo podem ver uma senhora a vender o Biscoito da Teixeira, um doce muito vendido na região norte de Portugal.

Not surprisingly, I couldn't leave Lamego without experiencing the famous Bôlas. So I went to a Pastry Shop of Sé. This pastry shop is over 50 years old. It was founded by the pastry chef Álvaro Guedes in 1966. And it is famous for its Bôlas. I ordered two bôlas, one of ham and one of vine of garlic and I liked it so much! Bôlas can be bought whole, halves or even slices. And prices range from € 5 to € 15.
While waiting for the bôlas I ordered these delicious Berlin balls. They looks so good don't you think?

Como era de esperar não podia deixar Lamego sem experimentar as famosas Bôlas. Então fui à Pastelaria da Sé. Esta pastelaria tem mais de 50 anos. Foi fundada pelo pasteleiro Álvaro Guedes em 1966. E é famosa pelas suas bôlas de fiambre. presunto. vinha d'alhos entre outras. Encomendei duas bôlas, uma de presunto e outra de vinha d'alhos e gostei imenso. As bôlas podem ser compradas inteiras, metades ou até mesmo às fatias. E os preços variam entre os 5€ e 15€.
Enquanto esperava pelas bôlas pedi estas bolas de berlim deliciosas. Que bom aspecto não acham?

I loved this experience! Lamego is a beautiful city full of history and good food! I would definitely recommend to visit!
