₿ Meerkat Wednesdays For Average Joe | Crypto News #245.11 — “new to crypto, start with lbry" ₿

in dtube •  5 years ago  (edited)

Hey, it’s meerkat Wednesday and I promised that I’d do a little ‘crypto’ video on Wednesdays to help out current content creators who have looked at crypto and did not know where to start with it all, in fact, it might be a little difficult to understand how any of it works at all because it requires a bit of ‘research’ time and well, life is busy.

I did a quick walk through video today and tried to make it as less techy and more human and push you guys that have good subscriber numbers and plenty of videos to consider lbry as an alternative ‘backup’ to your YouTube hosted videos — it’s wise to have a backup anyway right?

I’ve see multiple people have their channels either straight up deleted or all their videos removed (and restored luckily by YouTube) so I think it’s a valuable exercise and you might find yourself using the platform anyway and finding some great new content creators you can learn from PLUS earn a little extra ‘crypto tokens’ in the form of LBC on the side.

Of course the price of those tokens are very low right now but hey, if you have your YouTube account SYNC’d then you have them just steadily collecting a bit of lbry credits on the side — best thing is you can ‘tip’ other creators with that currency too, might be great for collaborative projects in the future where you can actually send some LBRY token to another content creator for their involvement in your project.

You can’t do that with YouTube! :)

Great video. I love their platform, the more that I post on there and learn how Lbry works the more I like it. It’s definitely one of my favorite blockchains

yeah they did a good job.

Excellent

thanks.

When you are publishing a video, what you are really doing is claiming a name, which is a blockchain transaction. You deposit an arbitrary amount of LBC, but you will still need to pay transaction fee. That's why you are seeing all those -0.01 LBC transactions on your wallet, @teamhumble.

got it. ta.
