I made this quick thirty minute overview about pirate box (and library box) a few years back and it got me thinking when recently skillshare made some changes.
at some point I’m gonna have to start being selective as to where I put certain content when it’s seen as sensitive for the general consumer. I’m making an effort to put this in places around the web where it can always be accessed.
We are starting to really see lot of content getting either content striked or just suppressed — if it’s going to rock any kind of boats on certain centralised platforms it tends to get nuked.
it feels like a kind of weird suppression actually because it’s more about the technology rather than the application of it — so I guess now is a good time than any to get this stuff out there on platforms that don’t censor content!
LibraryBox is a fork of PirateBox for the TP-Link MR 3020, customized for educational, library, and other needs. LibraryBox was conceived and created by Jason Griffey (time to spread some steem blockchain stuff eh?)
Especially now that this platform/process is more relevant than ever and you can pick these little rad boxes up dirt cheap now and make one of these little node boxes yourself — I’m thinking of making a little steem related one with all my courses, zip files, mp4 files, txt files, audio files etc and then I can leave them littered around the place.
if I can make something really solid with a solar panel too and a really good hiding place then I don’t see why this could not provide dead drop features during sunlight hours :)
I’m sure you have ideas for this thing! :)
Cheers!
