Elgato has been on a roll since 2019 after getting acquired by Corsair, what’s next for CES 2020?

Long live the Elgato Turbo.264 HD. . ..

I wanted to quickly talk about the piece of kit that I do hope that elgato considers making again, maybe it can support h264/5/4k/8k encoding now and they go all out because of the extra 3.1 or type-c connection.

I totally doubt we will ever see an encoding chip again which is a shame for us old mac users - but it certainly helped a lot when I needed it the most when I had all those mini fiver encoding jobs and my old Mac tower could not cope with it!

Artificial intelligence, 5G, foldables, surveillance tech, 8K and robotics are set to be among this year’s buzzwords.

Anyway, CES 2020 is a few days away, I’m hoping for some cool tech to come out that we never knew we wanted and I’m especially keen to see what elgato launches this year seeing as they was on a roll last year — I’m expecting some kind of goXLR system from them (corsair/elgato) and I’m sure the goXLR guys have a new version they want to pimp.

Also, why are we doing ‘foldable’ anything, I don’t understand it, is it because it’s a half way house towards the actual thin sheet of newspaper concepts they promised us like when were teenagers that we still don’t have? Sounds like playing for time (or at least R&D money!)

I’d love to see elgato come out with some down lighters as well, like a strip led lamp that works with the existing light offering (fill light) to remove the shadows behind you.
