Some cognitive dissonance is to be expected. Just recognize it when it arises and let it pass.

I'm not sure I believe in the flat Earth theory although I guess if I believe we are a simulation flat Earth could go hand in hand as in a video game nothing exists outside your view until you move to another location and have that new area rendered.
