Life | Vlog #10 - My grandfather's camera | Part 1

in dtube •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hey guys!

I'm super excited to show you the camera I got. I have never shot on film, so I'm ready to learn something new and see how the result will look.

If there are any photographers who use film cameras here on @DTube, don't be shy, share some tips. :)

It is very noble kind of photography

That's a wonderful way how to put it. It is indeed - it teaches you to stop and enjoy the moment you're capturing.

Hi Inga! I'm really excited to see what you do with that camera! I've shot a few rolls of film and even got to develop them myself in the dark room. Its a lot of fun and I think you'll really like it. There's something really special about film :) There's some people in the DTube-Daily group with me that have a lot of film experience. They might have some good advice for you! It's sort of an exclusive group... but I got the OK to invite you if you're interested! Keep up the good work!

Hi! The thing I like about shooting on film is that you don't finish a film in just one day, you gather those precious shots over time and when you recieve back the photos you have already forgotten what was on that film. And then it's like Christmas. :)

I would be honored to join DTube-Daily. I have heard wonderful feedback about this group from my friends who are a part of it and actually were the ones to introduce me to Steemit and DTube. :)

I love that too! I miss running around with little disposable cameras and never knowing if your photos would turn out! It made it so much more special when they did!

You must mean Reinis and Kate! That's great that you're already friends with some other members! Do you have a discord profile?

You're right, they are the ones. :) Yes, it's - TheFoxberry#5323

Hi Inga,
That's a gorgeous camera! The design looks very cool.
That 'flash' around the the lens is not actually a flash, but a light meter selenium cell. That measures the amount of light coming into the lens so the camera can make some measurements :) It means the camera doesn't need batteries.
Looking forward to your adventures and photos.

Thank you so much for letting me know. :) I was curios how will camera works, because there are no batteries.

I always get very excited when I go to photoshoots and later edit photos, but now I feel different kind of excitement, can't even describe it... almost childlike wonder.

That pretty cool!
What camera is it? Please note that some do use batteries. So put some fresh batteries, find yourself a roll of film and a place where to develop it.
Just a note my oldest camera does makes the nicest pics. I also love the mechanical "Click" it makes when you take a picture. Much more satisfying than anything digital.
Thanks for sharing!

The camera is FED Mikron and luckly it works without batteries. :) YES, I love that "click" sound it actually makes me feel more like a photographer thatn my Nikon. :)

Very cool,
Please share some pics back. The camera we had as we grew up was a Smena 8M ;D. Very compact and light and we rarely had a bad pic out of that thing.
Good luck!

Nice there...am a looking learner, maybe i would learn from y'. Hope y' do teach me how to shoot vid? Lol. Y' can art...y' look like one already...waiting to watch your movie soon...haha.

It's good to keep the old things like that camera. It makes the memories more valuable. I'm happy to watch your vlog!

It does, and I definitely want to take a picture of my garndfather with this camera.
