And it continues. Retail stores have been closing up shop at a more rapid pace than we have seen in a very long time. It is currently on pace to be worse than the years leading up to the Financial Crisis. Some have blamed ecommerce. Others blame it on bad companies. Let’s look into the details today.

Ummm, this didnt say anything about the banks Eisman shorted. But I dont think the particular banks matter; its more just that he shorted banks cause he was long last year right?

I've been talking about this since 2001 when my business teacher told me about it. Online companies don't have any overheads. They don't have to heat and light stores, pay checkout workers, change what's on display, pay high-street rents, they can just use an automated system to take payments and send the stuff out in trucks. It's so much more efficient, but some of these high street shops just don't get the message. They keep blundering on with the bricks and mortar modal, instead of going online. We could have saved so many well-known brands by taking them online.
