This post was made with the hindsight of bringing the classic gaming Athene to dtube.
At the time of writing this post, I wasn't aware of the controversiality behind him. I only knew that Athene was active in the crypto scene as well, which made sense bringing him on Steem.
Now, even though it's difficult to decide whether he is trolling or not: seeing videos like this: https://livestreamfails.com/post/13550 and this https://livestreamfails.com/streamer/AtheneLIVE is eye-opening enough, to come to the conclusion: bringing Athene to dtube is not what Steem needs right now.

many years ago, when I was a young gamer - you were one of my greatest inspirations and influencers.
You and Swifty showed me, that one should be proud to have a passion for games.

You clearly seem to have done your homework before making this post, else why would you want an obvious scammer onto Steem? I'm hoping this is just one of those posts where you knew you'd make some quick positive ROI after you heard about his youtube ban.
Youtube has banned and demonetized people left and right but this is one of those rare ones that should've happened a long time ago and it goes to show how shit Twitch is that it hasn't done so yet.
He has on multiple occasions admitted of the frauds he is doing, trying to find proof about it again is of course difficult as he has deleted most of the videos exposing him.

I do understand that bringing a controversial youtuber to dtube (on STEEM) isn't the best idea. So I'm completely fine with your downvote @acidyo.

I didnt want to be that open in my comments because i learned about him yesterday. But i really see absolutely no good from him coming to this platform. He is free to do so but a trending post calling for his arrival as if he is some amazing guy that will bring us prosperity or something seems weird to me.

The idea could be to set up a community to promote Dtube on Youtube on any video related to demonetization and reward people with tips in SBD or Steem.

Basically he became famous with his WoW Paladin, did some "funny" videos back in the day pretending his sister was his girlfriend (she is on Steem btw). Got into League trying to main Ryze mid but couldn't get high enough without cheating by letting pro's play his account - got busted and moved on to Hearthstone where he got busted for the same thing. Pretending to stream when in reality it was pre-recorded videos he was voicing over.
Pretended to be a "pro" at Poker where he was just abusing a referral loopwhole and the company didn't give him his rewards - then went into the charity thing. Sure he may have given some money out but it sure has not been all of what he has promised. Add to that admission of drug abuse.
The fact he is still relevant is beyond me.

I was a big fan of Athene as well back in the days. The way he presented himself was a bit strange for most people at fist but in the end he had real passion for gaming and, to be fair, he was one of the best. His youtube series from back in the days were great fun to watch.
Later on I wasn't watching any more of his videos as I quit playing the most addictive game in the world. I wonder what happened, I see he did some charity things and I also see he's made out to be a scammer. I suppose the internet is a place where everybody has a voice and it's not always pretty.

Many people from other platforms are surely falling off. Have we had any real successful YouTuber come here? If you switch up your content to something else sure. But bring over an audience that likes a place already will probably not happen.
This Steemit thing is too nuanced. Needs fresh new people that can build up something new. I don't think we need established people from other places to be honest. We have the liquidity in form of Tokens to build up anything or anyone.

It was so frustrating for me seeing the quality degrade on YouTube from 2015 and onward. I already then started to look for solutions. Steemit summoned the next year. It's such a mess on all the other platforms right now since the lack of relationships and how it's extremely 1 sided communication.
Cash needs to flow from real companies pockets to pay for things. So much management and rules and stuff that slows the whole process down. Companies operate from a scarcity mindset. They have no real liquidity. To make a decision 10 people needs to be involved. Fees. Mess. Ugh. The power structure is completely lacking also on YouTube for building something more balanced and stable. I really got all my dreams come true with the Steem Blockchain. It's really too good to be true and that this is only a Beta... That something this amazing could come out a few years later is absolutely amazing.

This is going to be the first time i'm going to have to say no to something like this. There have been a few streamers and tubers that have come over to steem. I would not say some of them have been the best for this website. They brought more of a negative vibe and brought no value to the site in general. On the first sight of this post I thought Athene already has joined steemit/dtube. I grew up with being a great fan of Athene when I was young. Was kinda my idol in world of warcraft, but I also did like his youtube channel. Despite all the controversy, I would love to see him joining our community.

And now, on to my question. I've just discovered you and now you're smartsteem. I do posts pretty regularly and I always help newbies, minnows and people in need.. I do my best to keep my quality up and my give aways fun exciting and new. However, this is my first experience with social media and blogging, so I do know I have some room for improvement. So what I'm wondering, is exactly what all does smartsteem offer? Is it a bot or do people get ROI for delegating to it?
