Blinking Red-Eyed Crow Halloween Prop

in dtube •  6 years ago

My first time wiring a basic parallel LED circuit------from literally garbage parts. I.e. a bag of about 5,000 small resistors discarded / given to me by an old HAMradio elmer, wires taken from a on old phone charging cable & broken 1960s tube TV set, and two AA-batteries simply wrapped in electrical tape-----which I tested by resting one end of the pair on a $1 bare-steel cased pocket knife. xD

This stuff is WAY more fun when you use actual junk to make it work. Kits and nice new parts, etc, just make poor artists scared to mess anything up; best just to start with materials that are ALREADY messed up! xD

I perched this plastic crow right on top of my mailbox last Halloween, so that the eyes would seem to stare directly at people as they came down the sidewalk. But, what I need is a huge FLOCK of these placed in some of my trees, looking down on all those poor doomed callers.............. >:)
