We finally got a call from the vet after 2 days. Betsy was diagnosed with a severe parasite infestation and she had a broken hip, possibly from being hit by a car. We really don't know. The best news was that she would survive and we were going to keep her.
We brought her home and let her off the leash. She immediately went under our house looking for safety. About 3 hours later she was still there. I lured her out with some lunch meat, brought her inside. Since that day she LOVES being inside with us. She began her recovery as well as her journey becoming part of our pack of dogs.
