oh waittttttt, cowboys are people with cows or horses?

In hollywood pictures they show cowboys riding on horses, I used to think cowboys are all about horses, now I am confused.

Yeah, in the literal sense, a cowboy is someone who makes a living tending cattle. Traditionally, most of the work involved in herding and taking care of cows was done on horseback, and some of that work still is, although modern-day cowboys often make extensive use of pickup trucks and ATV's as well.

Ohh that's like great insider information for me, what they show in movies made false concepts in my mind. I thought cowboys just ride horses and take care of them and fight aliens, zombies etc. :P
