This post is aimed at assisting all you vloggers out there!!

Background:

Don't get me wrong, videos are good and definitely have their place but...

• Imagine as a reader, you've clicked through to an enticing video to find the first few minutes are spent by the vlogger waffling on, advertising themselves and what they do, and why you should follow them. You need to wait a good few minutes before it actually gets to the real content.

• Or alternatively imagine you are at work, or in a place where you can't play audio, no headset available either - suddenly, the video post and all it's content becomes useless (unless you are prepared to use auto generated subtitles)
• Or imagine you're a highly efficient reader, who can scan and extract important info from text.
• Or perhaps (somewhat less commonly) imagine you have limited usage remaining or slow bandwidth and can't afford the video data.

Problem:

As you can see, a post with ONLY a video embedded could be overlooked or underutilised, no matter how good or worthy the content. This causes you the vlogger to miss upvotes, miss getting your message across, and miss connecting your message to more people.

You're missing opportunities!

Incidentally "a GlobalWebIndex study found that only 7% of internet users say they find out about new products, services or brands via vlogs"

Solution:

Pretty simple and by now you will already have guessed it, include a transcript of your vlogs under the video.  

People that find reading more efficient, can't have audio, or simply don't like your voice [nothing personal ;)] will then still be able to use, enjoy, benefit from, resteem and upvote your content...
