PLEASE HELP ME REACH 200 FOLLOWERS!

in dtube •  6 years ago  (edited)

Getting followers does not matter on SteemIt as it does on Twitter or Tumblr. Your current effort to follow people is a waste of time. You will actually regret it later.

The SteemIt game is all about upvoting and getting upvotes. What new users should do is find a few people who share your interests and interface with them.

Leave relevant comments on people's posts and upvote the people you like. That is really it. They are likely to upvote your posts in return.

So, what you should do is take the keywords that interest you then check out the created page for that keyword. The url is https://steemit.com/created/keyword (replace "keyword" with the keyword of interest).

Comment and upvote the posts that you find interesting.

The frustrating thing about SteemIt is that everything revolves around the value of your upvote. The value of your upvote is determined by the amount of STEEM POWER that you have in your account.

New accounts are given 0.1 STEEM POWER. The system delegates an additional $14.9 STEEM POWER. So the voting power of your account is 15.

Now for the frustrating part. The value of your upvote is worth less than a tenth of a cent.

The upvote calculator shows the value of the upvote at the STEEM price at the start of the day. If you type in 15; you will see that your upvote is basically worth nothing.

If you bought $180 in STEEM POWER, your upvote would be worth about a penny. If you bought $1,800 in STEEM POWER; your upvote would be worth a dime.

When I joined, I thought the price of STEEM was way too high. STEEM just took a 20% loss and is selling around $0.84.

As you play with SteemIt you will find that the low value of your upvote is extremely frustrating. I've been here since April and have made only $15.

The two mistakes I made is I wasted time playing the follow game. The other mistake I made is that I keep wasting time on new accounts with no Steem Power.

You should upvote people who you want to communicate with. Only follow people who are actually communicating with you.

Having a thousand followers on this platform really means nothing. Having STEEM POWER and actively engaging with others does matter.

PS: You should follow your account on SteemD.com. It shows the details of your block chain transactions.
