DTube Daily Vlog - Control Through Conformity and Comparison

in dtubedaily •  7 years ago  (edited)

Greetings Steem Stars

I was inspired by @neeqi and @sergiomendes with their recent excellent videos on sex and body positivity.

However, this video is on a related, but different theme and that is how conforming to social norms and comparing ourselves to others is endemic in our society, yet is probably one of the biggest creators of stress for many.

We are conditioned to always want more. What if we could be happy with what we have?

Well, that wouldn't be good for business.

You need the latest, the coolest, the youngest.

To be more beautiful.

And if not, right there is the evidence that you aren't as good, or valid a human being.

I believe that this is a major cause of difficult mental and emotional behaviour patterns in the world today.

What if we could cast aside the self-judgement, the need to fit in and the comparisons to others?

Would that be freedom?

This shift in beliefs and the ability to stop judging others AND judging yourself could be amazing.

Tomorrow, I will explore this further with a tapping session to start shedding this societal conditioning.

Here's to unlimited freedom!

To me this sounds like ultimate freedom actually. Unconsiously we tend to move to far towards the expectations of society. At some point it would be good to let go, and just lean on our own thoughts and expectations. Great post Sam

Yes - that would be great. Even perhaps outside of our own expectations.

Whats up Sam, subscribed! Good talk, I'd imagine most of the steemit audience is pretty forward thinking and are trendsetters.

Thanks Zainenn. Yes, those qualities are well represented on here, that's for sure. However, none of us have fully escaped our conditioning yet.

No doubt. Soon. when we are no longer shadowed by the Governments of the world.

VERY INTERESTING YOUR COMPARITION, GREETINGS

Saludos, buen tema de discusión.. a reflexión para todos.

Excelente post, @eftnow.

Thanks for your good advice.
