What to on a Sunday morning in Paramaribo, Suriname (Dim Sum)

Since it's Sunday and I have done any filming today, I've decided to upload one of my favorite YouTube vlogs on DTube. I'm aware it's duplicate content, but I think it is valuable content that will be appreciated by the Steemit community as well, especially since I can go a little more extensive on the info in the blogging format.

So, the story:
We decided to catch up with part of the #30DayChallengeSR squad to do a typical Sunday morning activity for locals and tourists, get some dim sum at the market. We went to the Soe Ngie Market at the Wilhelminastraat and the Chinese Market at Combe. The group existed mainly of local YouTubers, of which some have joined Steemit as well. The intro of the video was filmed by @grafinx and the latter part and the editing was done by @thatoneguy-sr.

Dim Sum in Suriname

There are a lot of Dim Sum options in Paramaribo, which is the capitol of Suriname, a small country in South America, located North of Brazil. Suriname is a former Dutch colony, where after abolition of slavery, many Indian, Indonesian and Chinese migrant workers found their way. Generations later, the Chinese came as free laborers, traders and entrepreneurs as well. Most of the Surinamese Chinese are Hakka, like my great grandfather who moved to Suriname over 100 years ago.

The Dim Sum tradition on Sunday market is still very strong. Most Chinese still either eat their dim sum at home or go to their favorite Dim Sum spot where they sometimes order things that aren't even on the menu. The Chinese markets are much more popularized and attract a steady flow of tourists and locals every week. I personally like to make a stop on Sundays before I play a round of golf (which I will talk about in another vlog).

Like the video shows, the are two main markets, the Soeng Ngie Market and the Kong Ngie Tong Sang Market. The former is connected to a Chinese stores which helped popularize the Chinese cuisine in Suriname, where as the latter is the original Chinese market which is a lot bigger and more basic.

nice i like this good quality filming there

Thanks! This was one of my better vlogs filmed quality wise, because it was largely shot with good quality cams instead of smartphone (which is still quite good, but much less impressive).
