I originally only wanted the basic chromecast so I could stream videos on a seperate screen as I worked on my laptop. But the option came to me to get a newer version for a little more and I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve actually been using it all night, it’s awesome!
DTube watching just became a whole lot more efficient!

The chromecast is pretty cool. Is there a lot of 4K content out there right now? I know some of the Youtubers jumped on board with it and then some backed off due to the edit load.

I definitely know the vloggers and filmmakers on YouTube use 4K. It all depends on how cheap 4k is, even phones can do compressed 4k

Yeah some of the vloggers do, but some have backed off a bit and just don't feel its worth it yet. Example is Casey and Peter McKinnon just don't think the bang for the buck is there yet in editing time, etc.

While I like the idea and the concept of the chrome cast. I can’t help but get mad that I spent 2000 plus dollars on a 4K tv when I could’ve just purchased this product for much less.
