Here Comes The Holiday Spirit - Dtube Snap Challenge Day 7

in dtubesnap •  6 years ago  (edited)

A about six years ago we stopped doing much for the Christmas season. We are not sure why, but we are finding we want to do the holiday things again. We started it off today, the day after Thanksgiving, with the Christmas lights at Rhema Bible Church in Broken Arrow.

When my children were young, we came here every year. Time seems to have stopped here. I can almost hear my son begging for funnel cakes and the girls asking for hot chocolate. Oh, how this is stirring that Christmas spirit.

Scott and I were challenged by the adorable @snook to try doing 60 days of DSnap videos. We have been wanting to have more of a presence in the Dtube World because we really believe in this platform.

Every year I always have to hold myself back a bit from the Christmas spirit to early. For me I've found that if I avoid Christmas stuff in November I don't get burnt out before Christmas. On November 1st I turned on the radio in the car already playing xmas tunes so I had to switch channels. 2 months of Christmas spirit is a bit long for me, but come December 1st I'm all in - Christmas events, movies, songs and a splash of eggnog in my coffee on occasion, you name it I like to enjoy it. I love going to events like the ones you guys attended with lights. I'll be sure to share some of my outs this year with the dtube community.

I think i need to learn from you. I use to play Christmas music from the day after Thanksgiving, but for some reason I stopped. I was the one who made gifts for everyone and decorated every room. I want to be there again. I miss it so much.

You have reminded me my childhood.
Ohh you did it.

I loved this! those lights are really something special!!! they looked like stars in the trees :)

you two are the cutest :)

Aw, thank you! I am hoping to do a video of all the lights we visit. I just have to get the Spirit going! I have been missi g Christmas. More importantly, Scott has been missing it.

This is really coool! I love all the colorful lightning going on in the background, they seem so ready for Christmas over there. One could easily feel the magic of Christmas over there. I feel like I should teleport myself to that place (but it seems I can't) ooh, this should be the second time I am using this word here but this really is how I feel when I see some of your photos. Well, I can at least see them in photos😄😊

glad to hear that you are guys are planning on celebrating Christmas in a bigger way this year. Merry Christmas!!

We are going to be taking lots of photos and videos to share some of the stuff going on here. I am thinking we will do something each day. I am getting really excited about it! I also wish you could be here Wagon Sister!

I am so looking forward to that! Something each day? That will be a whole lot but I am sure you will be able to keep up with that!

😊

I am hoping to do something each day.

Is it too soon to tell you two how much I love you?

Going to really enjoy sharing the Christmas spirit with you ❤️

Never to early to share love!

Howdy there xcountytravelers! hey are you guys stationed in Broken Arrow? Was that at Hagin's church there with the lights?

We are actually in Tulsa and it is his church.

howdy today xcountytravelers! oh I've heard that Tulsa was a great little city but I've never been there. I bought a few books of Hagin Sr. before he passed away and they were very helpful but I don't really follow Hagin Jr., I assume the church and school is still a strong presence and doing good work though.

I think they are. I was active with them in the early 90's, but I don't do much in that area any longer. The campus is still big and the lights are still going strong so they must be doing well.
