I just looked up the pierce overlook. I was a little further to the North. It says the water levels are high and people fall off into the water and they charge $3000 for rescue

haha, yeah they told us 5k if you need to be rescued which seems excessive since there's speed boats and casual boaters all around there. If I couldn't get up I'd waive one of them over and offer them $200 to get me back to land lol.
I didn't think the hike up there would be that bad, we'd already had a long day at the beach so I was a little tired. Wound up smoking a joint at the top and told my gf I'm gonna run down. Man did I underestimate that hill. About 1/4 of the way up I was winded, sweating.Whats terrible is every step you take you slide back down cuz it's sand. Then you go to wipe your face and just wind up getting sand in your eyes and grinding sand into your sunburnt face.
They said it takes some people 2 hours to make it back up. I think I made it back up in less than 30 minutes just because I wanted the misery to end lol. I heard the local high school track or cross country team runs laps up and down there though so maybe I'm just a pussy lol.

Yeah it certainly depends on how hot the day is for sure. Michigan is under rated though for sure!
