PLAN
Staring from September end, foreign travelers to India with e-visa will get a BSNL SIM card for use during their stay in India. The step is especially concerned for security help and also to promote India as a global tourist destination among foreign travelers. Mr. Mahesh Sharma – The Indian Union Tourism Minister has stated, “Previously we had number of meetings with the Home Ministry regarding this topic and finally they have agreed to our proposal. It will be launched soon.”
Usually foreign tourists face problems to acquire SIM cards in India during their stay. This facility will completely erase this problem while addressing their security concerns also. The SIM cards will have preloaded talk time amount, a welcome kit, tourism booklets, maps, information regarding various tourist destinations and emergency contact numbers.
