So, I live in Eagle Country. Or is it Eagles Nation? I don't even know because I'm not an Eagles fan... shh, don't tell anyone. Anyways, a lot of people would say that yesterday's game was pretty exciting since they won and they are headed to the Super Bowl. Fireworks were going off, confetti guns were being shot, and animals everywhere were trembling with fear from these sounds. My point of this isn't really about the Super Bowl or the Eagles. My point is that animals hate loud sounds, especially when they don't know what they are or where they are coming from. Similarly, sleeping children who awake to the same noises and sounds also hate it but not as much as parents. Once you become a parent and spend all of your time and energy caring for other little humans, you start to see the world a little differently. You start to not care about celebrating things like sports wins, having people come over to watch the games, putting money on little squares hoping your numbers and corners line up. You start to care more about life and the daily grind, happiness, how to live a less-stressed life.
Part of this includes making sure you have alone time once the kids go to bed so you can unwind and when that gets disrupted with fireworks and confetti guns, resulting in waking and crying children, you get pissed. So, yeah, I guess you could say I'm pissed off at the Eagles win. They put a kink in my routine. Fly away, Eagles. Fly away.
