Happy Earth Day 2017 Steemit!!!

in earth-day •  8 years ago  (edited)

🌏 April 22 is the day we recognize how important the earth is to us and we should rejoice in how well it has held up against human's rising development. 🌏

The steemit community for the most part acknowledge human's effect on our blue ball floating in the cosmos. Humans have an inherent duty to protect and ensure it remains habitable until forces we can not control take it's toll.

In the meantime let's continue to go Green get off the plastics and fossil fuels as much as possible and keep the air pure and the water clear. For the first time in history going Solar Powered has become cheaper than staying on the grid. What huge step forward.

Marching forward.

Here's what you should do today.

❀ Pick up a couple pieces rubbish you see outside floating in the wind on it's way to your nearest water source.

✿ Turn off the lights earlier or use less of them then you normally would.

🌅 Don't have a hot shower. (it's one day, you will live, unless you haven't showered in long time and today was the day)

🍁 Plant a tree or flowers.

🌵 Get outside and look up at the sun or clouds, the nearest tree and just say out loud "Thank You" and mean it.

🌇 There many things to do. Please share in the comments what you will do for Earth Day and get my vests

I did my part. I planted over 50,000 trees in the wilderness.

who's going to pick up all the trash after all the earth day events?

  ·  8 years ago (edited)

These events don't create a lot of garbage they do the opposite. It's a lot of work though. My generation and the next are still trying to clean up the mess your generation gave us.

Like the Dakota Access Pipeline?

  • The environmentalists came to North Dakota to protest the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline and lost. Now, as the cleanup of their protest camp begins, authorities have found it to be a disaster zone. There’s enough garbage and human waste to fill 2,500 pickup trucks. With the ending of the winter months approaching, they fear the spring flooding could wash this waste into the Missouri River, polluting it and other waterways. Yet, efforts to prevent an environmental disaster before the spring have hit another obstacle. Besides leaving heaps of garbage, protesters have left their pets. Now, volunteers at a local animal rescue group—Furry Friends—are conducting searches to make sure there are no more missing animals (via West Dakota Fox):

oh. that debacle. That has nothing to do with Earth Day. That was a protest against the government stealing land then giving it to tax evading corporations and taking freedom away from native peoples. Was that even one year ago today?

Earth Day is just about saying thanks to the world for being so awesome.

Actually that's not what it was about at all.
But keep deluding yourself. I understand that the trash didn't take itself out at earth day...It scattered itself all over the park..

one example a few years old..but it happens where ever leftists go.

I still don't see why you needed troll my post about earth day with chat about protesters leaving rubbish in dakota. This day is just about saying thank you the world is so awesome.

If you don't want me to comment on your posts then I won't.

no man. i like you're posts. really, maybe not all but many. Just I dislike when things get taken out of context. This is just a day to respect the earth regardless of; or why, it is happening.

But really, I do enjoy many of your posts.
