I've doing a lot of thinking........I've been doing most of this thinking over 3 decades or so since about 12yrs old. I think I maybe like many in the world, I see problems, and I want to solve them but again like many I think way too much and I have way too many problems to solve. When I was young I thought about things, like how do I defend myself against bullies, how do I fit in, how I can be the best at the sports I play. There is nothing new in this except maybe that I remember being conscious about my belief that I could think and thereby create a better way of doing things. For instance, when it came to dealing with my bullies, I would recall things they said to me where I had no reply, I would actively think of smart replies and practice them so that the response seemed, instant, witty, humorous and essentially damaging to my bully. In regards to my sports, like many athletes do I used to close my eyes and try and imagine as many scenarios in a game as I could, I always played better when I did this the night before.
Ok ok, where am I going with this? well over the decades, I've continued to be very analytical in my head about how we as humans do things and how we might do them better. In more recent years, I've thought about how can I contribute more to the world, even considered being a politician....briefly! In reality I believe I succumbed like many to over consumption, by way of reading. I wasn't analyzing or rationalizing so much in my own head as just reading lots of different points of views. While this isn't all bad, I wasn't doing anything about any of it. So here I am, its not much, but I hope by just starting to create that I can do more, not just for my contribution to society and the earth but also for myself. I wanted to write a book, but I just didn't know where to start, so instead I find myself here hoping to discuss all the areas of interest I wish to address blog by blog.
There are a wide range of issues or areas of interest I wish to address. I'm hesitant to list them all but I think I'll list a few just to give an idea of how wide ranging my interests spread. So for example, below are areas I wish to discuss in more detail. I say discuss, because I'm always trying to challenge my own opinion and develop it as best I can, that process will never end for me, so feel free to disagree with any premise or statement I may make. I'm no expert in anything, so open to disagreement. Just try and keep t respectful.
Some of topics to cover in following blogs:
Technology - how we can use it to better our world, and how we lesson the damage cause by its very creation, taking into account particularly the mining of materials for tech, waste, and transport issues but to name a few. How do we re-evaluate the full tech cycle from ground to disposal, and how can we get countries and corporations to incorporate this holistic approach to creating the tech of the future
Food - While globalization has been very beneficial in some respects, when it comes to food, there are huge issues in terms of how much sense it makes to ship food around the world, the standard of food we eat due to the preservation of food because of this shipping. Countries need to re-look at the idea of growing or developing food locally so it can make it to the table quickly and be eaten swiftly in an organic and healthy way possible.
Crime and punishment - This one, gets people riled up and rightly so. Most people would agree the punishment is necessary as means to give justice to victims. However there are two other major factors that can have an effect on how we approach this whole area, one being prevention and the other being rehabilitation. I will look to discuss all of these factors so as to understand how we can get closer to little or no crime (Idealistic).
Constitutions - A big one I know! The problem with constitutions is while magnificent in their creation, they age. The world is moving on very fast, and constitutions need to keep up. I will discuss whether it is feasible for countries to find a way of developing their constitutions progressively over time, and embracing constant change for a changing world. Or is it better to rely on the rigidity of a constitution. Granted constitutions can be changed, but we witness in some countries, the changes required are often hard to effect at the time desired within reason.
Mathematics as a language - I'm not even sure about how this one is going to develop but heres my thoughts. "Fake News" everywhere. It seems to me that even if you could eliminate the most obvious lies and fake news, we are still left with the way many people (politicians as example) use language, to dodge questions, obfuscate and conflate issues and in general just cause confusion. Now what if we could create an absolute language where the answer given is the answer understood by all? Well Maths speaks very much in absolutes, although not always, but its as close as I can find to having a world standard language. Of course a couple of things I still need to discuss with myself over a few drinks is, how could one apply maths to the every day conversation and how would it change us as humans to be this rigid in how we communicate. All to be discovered.
For now thats a brief idea of things I will be blogging about in the coming months along with some others:
- Makerspaces
- Work & Wages, including the concept of a basic wage
- Pilot Earth 2.0 on an island some where - How would we start it
- Harmonious living in nature and with all the animals of the planet
- Exploring the pros & cons of nationalism
- World Infrastructure
- Taxes, what should it be spent on is it time to tax robots, machinery? and much more
- human nature
- Laws
- Should we now as an advance species revise what what believe should be human rights
- Regulations, layered to differ in onerousness depending on the size of problem, institution etc. being regulated
Thats just a flavor of what I'm looking to delve into. Maybe in 20yrs of blogs I'll have a book! Importantly will of course be the steemit users comments and contributions to my posts.
and I left out a word in the first fucking sentence!! I even re-read it twice before posting. ok, i guess I've learned my first lesson.....dont forget word haha
