An Actual Vision

in earthnation •  7 years ago

After keeping a dream journal for many months, one morning I experienced this very real-to-me vision. A dream journal is kept by placing a note pad and pen next your bed so that one may record dreams that could otherwise be lost to memory after waking up. I have found it to be a wonderful process. Doing this lead me to have a "vision" which is not a dream, but is not a fully awake experience either. I have had numbers of visions throughout my life and they have all been very steeped in symbolism and meaning. Here I am sharing one of the most profound and mystifying vision of my life. Please feel free to share your interpretations and insights as I have never really decided what the full meaning is, though I have had many insights and other visions that connect to this one. Thank You!

I was in pieces on a hillside. The grassy hill was surrounded in forest, and I think there was one tree growing on top. My arms and legs detached from my body. A wolf showed up and started putting me back together, picking my limbs up with its mouth and bringing them back to my body. Once I was whole again I stood up and put the wolf in my backpack. The wolf wanted to be in there, so it was not forced. I then put the backpack on and headed north down a trail that lead that way through the forest. As I walked through the forest the trail started veering right and it continued eastward along a river now to my left. I walked along the river trail for awhile until it came to a big waterfall.

I was in pieces laying on the west side of the hill, just for symbolic purposes and to be accurate.

Through what I would call intuition, I was lead to walk out into the river, before I reached the waterfall. As I walked out I noticed a translucent island out in the middle of the river. As I approached the island it became more real and more real, with plants and bushes etc.. Before it had looked kind of like a clear crystal. I have described it like Wonder Woman's jet, where as I could make out the edges. As I stood at the edge of the island, not climbing onto it but staying in the shallow water at the shore, I looked up and there standing like a Goddess was a woman.

She was standing strong facing back west, with the wind in her yellow hair. A vision of strength and beauty. This is when I started waking up. As I woke up these words were going over and over in my head:

"Four Eagles Standing Alone On Water"

This is how I acquired my spirit name.

This picture is a copy of my original drawing for the "Crow Card" in the oracle card deck I use as my medicine bundle. I call the deck "Alchemy of the Bird Tribes". It took me three years to finish to completion including its text book which I self published and can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1453770879/ref=cm_sw_su_dp

Wow, just read through that. Not sure how to interpret that but it's definitely something. I'm no mystic, but It did not seem like an ill omen from how you described it. I hope you find out soon, best of luck. Thanks for sharing your story!

Cool illustrations too!

Wow that's truly an amazing way to receive a spirit name! I was inspired to look up the dream meaning of wolf as I felt it was a major aspect of that dream.

Here's one interpretation:

Wolves are seen as majestic, beautiful and as a source of sacred wisdom.

It kind of makes sense that this sacred source of wisdom put you back together and them named you.

Such a fascinating story! Thanks so much for sharing @foureagles.
