Today, at dawn, one of the strongest earthquakes in the last years was buried. It exactly happened at 11:45 on the night of September 7, 2017.

It is practically the strongest earthquake of the last 100 years in Mexico. Overcoming even the famous earthquake of 1985 which had a magnitude of 8.1 on the scale of Richte and ended with the lives of thousands.

The earthquake a few hours ago had a magnitude of 8.1 according to reports our president Enrique Peña Nieto. The epicenter was the state of Oaxaca, in the municipality of Tijijiapan.

Sadly disasters like these just bring with them pain. So far there have been 45 deaths in Oaxaca, 12 in Chiapas and 4 in Tabasco

Not to mention that so far more than 1 million inhabitants of that area and its surroundings do not have electricity because of the heavy damage to the structures.

In addition to this, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) activated an alert for Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras and Ecuador.

Here is a video of what happened during the earthquake in Tuxtla Gutierrez.

I live in the state of Puebla about 157km from the epicenter and believe me that it felt really strong here. The lamps of my house were moving, they were about to fall. You could hear the windows creaking. And I really regret and understand my Mexican brothers, especially those most affected. Indeed in these cases the borders are broken. And the only thing that matters is to give support to those affected.
