For the last five years I have been actively observing the Sun, the Earthquakes, Volcanoes and other alerts. I am fascinated by the world and so to pay it forward I have created DarkflameEarth.com where you can access all the tools that I use. The community page on Facebook has been the go-to place for updates, however I am going to begin posting my observations here first, and then share them on social media afterwards.

Earthquakes
The Global Incident Map has the best earthquake tracking
because it uses data from multiple feeds.
** Yesterday four were killed in a Mag5.4 Peru quake.
A 65 year old tourist died when "part of the hotel's ceiling collapsed".
- Mag2.2 in Washington - I live in Canada so anything close to the border concerns me. There was a Mag3.5 north of the border two days ago, on August 14th 2016.
- Mag3.2 in Columbia - Near a Mag3.4 quake in Columbia ten hours ago.
- Mag5.3 in Chile - If you want to know what earthquakes feel like, visit Chile. This country rings like a bell! The ground is like liquid when a series of large quakes occur, just like this video from Japan.
- Mag3.2 out in the middle of the Atlantic, west of the Canary Islands.
- Mag3.1 in Bosnia - For the last few months there has been major movement in Eastern Europe & Turkey.
- Mag4.4 in Japan - Near East Coast Of Honshu, north of a more central 4.3 Honshu quake yesterday.
As I am working on this update there was another quake, a Mag2.7 in Oklahoma.
Why are there earthquakes in Oklahoma? As The Guardian reported two days ago,
" The number of magnitude-3.0 or greater earthquakes has soared in Oklahoma, from a few dozen in 2012 to more than 900 last year. Scientists have linked the increase to the underground disposal of wastewater from oil and gas production and state regulators have asked producers to reduce wastewater disposal volumes."
- Mag4.8 near Solomon Islands - The island of Makira has about 10,000 residents.
It was first discovered by European Álvaro de Mendaña in June 1568. - Mag3.1 offshore Valparaíso Chile - Nicknamed "The Jewel of the Pacific", Valparaiso is an important administrative city, with a population of 275,141 Urban and 930,220 Metro residents.
Solar Activity
The sun is supposed to be quiet right now but there has been some activity in recent weeks. Last weekend there was an unexpected eruption that arrived on Earth over the last two days. Solarsoft tracks this information.
This C2.4 Coronal Mass Ejection started at 2016/08/11 16:32:00 .
You can look up the source imagery on Helioviewer.org and see for yourself.
Solarsoft doesn't keep records of all these solar flares. In 2012 I tried to count all the large flares.
It's not as easy as it sounds. The small ones (A&B) are barely worth noting. The C's are ten times larger.
M flares and X flares are more significant, NASA says "The energy from a flare can disrupt the area of the atmosphere through which radio waves travel. This can lead to degradation and, at worst, temporary blackouts in navigation and communications signals."
so those are the main ones I watch for.
If we don't backup this information ^ it will be very hard to find later.
Volcanoes
Here is a map of all currently erupting from VolcanoDiscovery.com
