Back story
I almost didn't submit this photo as it doesn't live up to what I wanted. I then decided to share it and the difficulties I had trying to achieve what I had in mind. The inspiration for the photo was taken from the photo below. I was hoping to create a similar photo with bees around a pool of food in the palm of my hand.
It didn't take me long to realize getting bees into the palm of my hand was not an easy task, especially when there is a nectar flow that they prefer. I tried shaking some bees into my hand, but that just got them riled up and they would immediately fly off.
Next attempt was to shove my hand down between two frames hoping that would entice them to jump on for the ride.
Not much luck 😥
So next attempt was to drizzle some food down my fingers in hopes they would climb up since they didn't want to climb over from the frame.
This required removing another frame to get my hand down deeper the the tops of the frames below.
This got a few more bees onto my hand, but not what I had hoped for.
And finally a selfie for @freedomexist who can't comprehend the fact that I don't wear a full suit of armor when working the bees!

Ya, after wasting an hour trying to get the shot, I figured I would as least share the attempt. I normally always wear a veil cause you never know when a flying bee may collide with you and sting you. The face is where you don't want to get stung..... They are all female, so sometimes they can be a little ornery :-) There are times that full coverage is needed𐂫
