The Easylife System and Social Media Censorship

in easylife •  6 years ago

The creators of Easydex are happy to announce our latest project: the Easylife system of inter-operating blockchains. In the EasyLife whitepaper ( https://ezlife.io/assets/files/EasyLifeWhitePaper%20(5).pdf) we describe the reasons for creating the EasyLife system as it pertains to within the blockchain sphere. Rather than reiterate what we have already written, in this article we will focus on some of the benefits the Easylife system will bring to the fields of social and user-created media.

The widespread adoption of the Internet began a process where people began to explore ideas beyond those laid forth by the major media companies. Alternative news sources sprang up that offered different viewpoints than had previously been available. The rise of social media multiplied this effect as it became easy to find both new ideas and an audience for your ideas. However, providing these services free to users required the collection of user data for sale to advertisers. Not only have these centralized systems abused this by repeatedly violating the privacy of their users against their knowledge but the centralized nature of these systems has led to the censorship of ideas and suppression of ideologies that are counter to the ideas of those that run these systems.

The social and user-created media platforms that will be part of the EasyLife system will not have a centralized authority to impose their ideas on the users while silencing dissenting viewpoints. Since they will be inherently monetized through inflation of the associated tokens (with deflationary sinks) there is no need for advertising revenue in the system. Moreover, we will also remove other methods by which other decentralized alternatives have led to similar stifling of ideas. While there is some need to allow some regulation of content to ensure that the system doesn’t become a haven for illegal activity these systems will be minimal and will not have any central authority but will be decided and regulated by the community at large.

The exact form that these systems will take is impossible to say since the community of users on the platform will decide the exact methods and means of governance. Should disagreements arise that can’t be worked out within the community it is also a fairly simple matter to create separate platforms. What is sure is that the platforms developed on the system will provide a space for the free-flow of ideas and knowledge for all ideologies. If you would like to know more about the EasyLife system I invite you to visit the info page at https://ezlife.io and join the community on Discord or Telegram where we will be happy to answer any questions and listen to any thoughts, ideas or criticisms you may have.
