Path of Totality

in eclipse •  7 years ago

The path of totality was amazing, a thrilling experience and it chilled the atmosphere in the eeriest way, becoming almost night, perhaps twilight would be a better description. Oh, but being a part of this dance was imperative. Once in a lifetime, or at least until 2024. But, I will be ready. I have the glasses before they run out and I already bought the filter for the camera and did a test run.

I already tolerated the horrific traffic jam that lasted for two days. Did I mention that a few dozen times?

THis is absolutly amazing well worth all the traffic queues etc

Maybe in 2024 I will be able to get to somewhere where the Eclipse is full, hey at least I hav plenty of time to get the glasses filters etc etc

It really was!! We both battle the traffic now, so this will be nothing! It will run from Austin, Texas straightlined to Burlington, Vermont and beyond. I love Burlington and will choose the place that has the longest exposure to the full eclipse! I'll see you there!!!! :))

Yes we coul well meet there :) would be a blast

That would totally be awesome!!!!! :)

Well it's just around the corner :)

Well, perfect! There is a cute little white steepled church up in Burlington (unless you prefer Austin, Texas, but that is about 30 hours from you) and it is a tiny little town that will probably be a real fun time! My clock is set in hack mode, so I have a timer running.

Sorry brain fade which state is Burlington?

Sorry- first post said Burlington, Vermont and after that.... well fail!!! :)

lovely.

Thank you so much!

beautiful photography....

Thank you so much! I appreciate your comments!

It was amazing. The twilight -- the darkness. Where did you watch from? I was in Oregon.

I went down to the Tennessee/North Carolina botder where we viewed the total eclipse for 2minutes 38 seconds! Amazing.

This photo is amazing! You were able to get such a clear representation of this rare event. Great capture!

It was definitely a once in a lifetime event, but, as I say that, I am already planning on going to Burlington, Vermont for the one in 2024

Thank you for taking the time. xoxo

I watched it too but one burning question, did you actually see the moon? Oftentimes the moon is visible in the day sky so why was the moon invisible on this day? Any other day if you look the moon can be seen but on the day if the eclipse it was invisible. Just wondering that's all.

It really was invisible! Our whole crowd looked for it, but, the guy with the telescope DID get it. He was in back of us. So, I didn't, but he did.

Cool! Well that answered my question, thanks Dear.

:) Anytime. Where did you watch it from?

My back yard (Middle Tennessee).

I went to Tennessee and ended up in Andrews, NC - right over the border. The viewing time was longer.

And you didn't bother coming and saying hello to the dog. I SEE HOW YOU ARE!!!! GRRRR....

I couldn't find the right dog house!
