The Union of Economists in Bulgaria announced its 14th National Competition "The Voice of Young People for a Strong Economy" on "Regional Disproportions in Contemporary Bulgaria: Economic, Social and Demographic Challenges".
A number of small towns are depopulated due to lack of work. The lack of young and skilled people can not attract investors to small and medium-sized towns. In small towns and municipalities the business environment is not favorable. Participants in the National Competition have to present their assessments of the existing problems as well as to make proposals for better solutions to reduce regional imbalances and to strengt the economic and social cohesion in Bulgaria with the developed European countries.
