Utopian Dreams and Other Horseshit

Mr. Yanis Varoufakis blows our minds again, as he so often does, with his eloquent and incisive erudition into all things financial or otherwise, linking the threads in the webs we weave to amuse ourselves, bemuse ourselves, and keep the oligarchs in charge. There is never an easy answer to matters of money or resources, because it is never “just the economy, stupid!”, it is in fact a political economy, and therein lies the rub that all decisions we make are done within complicated power structures at many levels. Do the oligarchs deserve more than the average? Do the crafty and powerful? Is equality an option? And just how has the capitalist message eroded our ability to see and question the world around us… and the possibilities of a better world to come, if we can survive the continuous chaos that our financially greedy system breeds. And why there is never a utopia, but certainly needs to be a better world/system.
