To Catch A Capitalist Cannibal on SteemsteemCreated with Sketch.

I will keep saying it, steem is cannibalism...Im also not convinced there was ever a long view by our founders. That goes for us and them.

It seems it was a get in get out scheme. Then take off and do other things while the leftovers are left to toil and trouble themselves with a spoiled platform that was a stepping stone for those that got in on the ground-floor and knew the game was going to expire.

If Ron Swanson is correct and I'm not saying he is it stands to reason smart investors would've come here by now and marketed this platform to the internet Normies and we wouldn't be the 60+ ranked coin and our top landing page wouldn't be ranked 5320 !

I posted a ranking thingy the other day and also expressed concern that one of our best assets for adoption a good mobile interface seems to have abandoned it's baby @partiko.

Marky said it the other day, "Hemingway if alive could drop a novel on us and it would make pennies" (paraphrasing) The point is that content discovery isn't working and the 7 day window of opportunity makes it an act in futility to make great stuff in a system that clearly doesn't support the cause from any angle.

This place is Riggedy rekt son! Go home steem you're drunk!

I wish I could trade in all my single upvotes for one cumulative VP vote and self vote. I wish I could earn rewards for more than a 7 day period. I wish I could spread the word so that others could discover my content without a pay to play service that doesn't work anyway. I wish we had something here that could go viral and people would onboard, and stay. I wish rep scores meant something. I wish we could catch the cannibals and convince them they are feeding on themselves and no value is created from killing yourself by eating your laborers.

I wish many things but wishes grow on trees here and we can't see the forest for those trees.

I agree about extending the rewards window. Quality content, which is desirable, is often evergreen. There is no incentive, however, to make that type of content as it is no longer monetized after a week. There is more incentive to produce frequent, trashy posts.

Precisely!

But is this not true to say that it depends how the platform is viewed by its users and how the platform defines itself?

Problem is definition. Is it a platform for quality content creators to earn from their intelligence, creativity or hard work? Or is it social media monetised? Two very different beasts that should be able to coexist although one is transient, the other permanent.

I wish your cat could talk....

My cat talks quite a bit but doesn't know how to listen..

The problem is absolutely definition or identity..

My opinion is it's mostly a game no matter how it's sliced and diced.

Hey thanks so much for the comments. We are undergoing a transition and will make an update soon!

Posted using Partiko Android

Yes, it's quite clear this transition period has not been handled professionally and time is of the essence as myself and others have expressed leaving and that won't be easy for you guys to come back from with esteem and the lack of confidence you've instilled in your user base by the Houdini act.

Hopefully, the future partiko team has learned from this very ignorant lack of communication that is a staple of the steem experience.

You have all but destroyed the best thing going for @partiko which was being attentive and communicative with your users.

Abandoning what was built by simply not expressing this understandable transition is exactly why people rightfully loathe stinc so well done. It's sad my insignificant account will be the one leaking the partiko ineptitude. .

For what is worth, Partiko is still functioning and we are still paying for the cost. The transition is a very painful decision.

Sure, lots of work to be done. Steem is a tough bunch to please. I have many issues with the front end. Partiko happens to suck less than its competition to be blunt...

Posted using Partiko Android

Any information on what this transition is to?

Posted using Partiko Android

No, nothing, just the cryptic message I screenshot and posted...

Posted using Partiko Android

I had intended that question towards @partiko but thanks for the reply 👍

No, nothing, just the cryptic message I screenshot and posted... Took multiple attempts to send this reply, hence my frustration with the "timeout" messages...

I don’t mind the 7 day period I think it’s sort of a necessary evil it encourages people to keep creating or people would just post once earn a bunch and leave!

I do however think that a multi-reward system makes more sense though

Integration of steem forever dapp natively into a front end for post 7 day rewards maybe not in steem but in another token

Then finally based on views, interactions and add impressions you could get a slice of that too!

Plenty of ways to skin this or layer rewards over and above the current system!

I see quite a few large accounts are powering down I assume to dump their bags which I don’t see as a bad thing! I’d rather have less whales than bad whales or inactive whales! Spread that shit around and see what people do! The longer it stagnates the more impatient they might get and dump but who knows? I’m just here for the snax

Yes if I could revote in your suggestions post for ways to layer rewards I certainly would love to give you a steem eternal token for such meaningful contributions..

I get the 7 day thing being a double edged sword but a separate front end that has another token seems like a logical option..

Also I of course was joking about loading all my voting power into one substantial self vote, but the option to do this multiplier vote for others would be awesome, though impossible due to the inability to police sock puppets. It's another double edged sword.

Ultimately I'm not free to do what I want without my VP bc the system is safeguarding the obvious abuse this multiplier vote would create, but it's an admission that anarcho capitalism doesn't work and will always be regulated even if it's ambiguous or less defined by rules we can all agree need to be established. Regulated also means gamed and the dpos means the more stake the more gaming will benefit you. This is a game not a career!

I'm just offering annoying philosophical vantage points here.

Whales dumping is not a bad thing.. Like ludacris astutely said "move bitch get out the way"

Nooooooo, Let me stay in denial a bit longer please.
Seriously though. If Steemit doesn't make big changes soon we are doomed! I hate it so much! This place is my life. I don't even remember what my life was like before this place existed.

I am afraid it works the same everywhere.
Mobile blogging is hard, a big no, no matter what you write or how much time you invest.

I never understood the idea behind the 7 days reward... The period can be longer and the payout every 7th day.

What concerns me most is that if you get people that far to join there is less chance they will be discovered or read.
There are hardly comments given, not tips, you are lost unless someone tells you what to do.
You are not rewarded for what you write but for finding the right person or bots to help you out.
