Household Import Tariff

I know the economy has been hard on a lot of you recently, so I'm pleased to announce that for 2017 I'll be offering you all a voluntary household import tariff to help out your household economy.  Just like national import tariffs make local industry more competitive and make the nation wealthier, the household import tariff will make your family wealthier by deterring exploitation by extrafamilial profiteers.  Participation is easy: every time you buy something from outside your own household, whether it's an internet purchase, a grocery store, or anywhere else, send me 35% of what you paid.  By doing this, you'll stimulate unprecedented industry at home as your family joyfully seizes the opportunity to produce everything they want internally rather than by trading for it.
