Should Job Applicants Receive Wage Info Before or At an Interview? What's fair?

Aren't you just a little bit curious about the link between companies that don't disclose pay info in jobs ads and unfair labor practices that allow profits at the cost of people?

Economies are not mysterious abstract concepts held together by chance. The result of decisions and behaviors, economies are impacted by policy and lack there-of.

Many think that income inequality is something that happens for no specific reason and are unaware of the role they play in allowing it.
Income inequality exists because someone, a worker, 'agreed' to it by accepting an unfair offer and allowed silence to prevail. That silence isn't by choice, often they are contractually required to keep their salary confidential.

And we know that secrets are often dirty, objectionable deeds, don't we Steemians?! (Except of course when matters of unconditional love enter the narrative - not going there NOW though, some other time ok! )

I believe the potential for exploitation and unfair treatment begins when an organisation places a recruitment advert withholding pay information. They use the interview to test for vulnerable talented applicants who would be willing to accept low wage offers.

I asked FaceBook friends if they prefer to know pay information before or at the interview. A recruiter I had questioned explained that he didn't include salary ranges in job ads as it diminished the applicants right to state what they believed they deserved. I thought this was rubbish and challenged him to poll his people to see if they agreed. He refused so I took to MY people. ;)
