What Will You Actually OWN When The Music Stops Playing? -- David McAlvany

Another fascinating discussion. I view mega stores and mega corporations as a form of power centralisation. People who may at one stage have had a small business of their own now become the guy helping you out in the lawnmower section of a DIY mega store for instance. Economies of scale are a small win for your pocket but a massive loss for the community. The effect on community psyche is also devastating as self determination evaporates and we all grow up training to work for somebody. Additionally the scaling up of efficiency grows the welfare state as more people exit the work force. What can me done to stop this, not sure it's possible. Super intelligent power hungry persons are very hard to stop
