Some simple hacks to manage a budget

Hello guys!

Today I just want to talk to you about a subject that will certainly interest so many people, by giving you simple hacks to spare a little money on the side and to think about your consumption habits.

#1 Think about your takeout food habits

When you think about the coffee you take every morning on the way for your job or your university, and the price they cost you every day, and then you calculate your coffee budget for a week, a month, or even worse, a year? And this could be made also with any food that you take out and which represents more a habit than a real need. This is generally a lot more expensive than the food you can do yourself, or that the coffee you can bring in your own thermos. And just thinking to the huge budget you give to these small spendings day by day, while instead, you could just let in on your bank account or in your savings, or to put aside for your future vacations...

Personally, I am a person who eats mostly outside, because of numerous reasons. If I want to spare some money I know where I have to focus myself, and what habits I have to give up. I am convinced that thinking about your consumption habits can easily make a big change! And we all have this "coffee in the morning" kind of habits. Think about how you could be rich if only you have no spend so much money on sandwiches, coffees, smoothies, ...

#2 Follow your expenses

Another good option if you want to spare money is to track every single penny you are giving away, like in a notebook or something. By making that, you know where your money is going, what you spare week by week, and this highlights the habits that you may change to spare some money,... Obviously not for the rest of your life, but maybe just for a month or two, just to put you in face of your spending habits. You have to find a try triggers for your routine, mindless spending habits once you've unearthed them.

#3 Check your subscriptions

Is it really necessary to be subscribed to two papers? Or even just to one newspaper but the one that you receive each day and that you have no time left to read? Personally, I have clearly (or I don't take the time, but that's another question) to read daily a newspaper. I'm simply with the TV news, the news you can find on Internet websites,... So it would be total nonsense to subscribe to a daily newspaper.

You have to ask yourselves the same question for your gym/sports subscription. You all know some friends that are registered and that pay some amount of money every month for a place in which they go like once a month (or never)! So if you are that friend, stop it. Right now. Another thing concerning new sports that you want to do: it is better to try before the subscription, or before buying all the perfect sports clothes for your new practice. A lot of sports lessons propose you that option, or if not you can just pay for some lessons and then see if you are truly interested in it or not.

#4 Have two accounts

This is a simple hack that I actually follow since forever. You just have to create a sparing account besides your actual account to put the money you have spared in a month or in a week. In that way, you do not have access to it directly, and you will think twice before making a compulsive purchase because you have to make an operation to have access to this money. It is more efficient if you create this sparing account in another bank that the one you have for your credit account, because the money transfer will take you more time, so you have also more time to think about your purchase!

I hope these little hacks will help you to spare some money!

#5 Before making a purchase, sleep over it!

It is specially hard to have track on every single expense one makes. It requires discipline. I have tried it a few times in the past, and I can make it through the whole month, but after that I stop doing it. The reason is that it actually needs you to spend some precious time on it. But it is doubtlessly a great habit to acquire.

Thanks for it!
