In Venezuela, highest bank note (100,000 bolivares) cannot buy a small crackers pack

in economy •  7 years ago

Living here in Venezuela right now and seeing the prices go up daily.

The 100,000 bill is new (was released like 6 months ago)and the current highest bank note but it is not enought to buy a pack of crackers (price is 150,000 Bs.)

This bank note works using the government exchange rate, around 1.5 USD. Using street exchange rate it is around 0.12 USD.

Next month, there will be new bank notes with 000 less, all the prices will be divided by 1000 and the new highest bank note will be 500 Bs. (500,000 Bs. today)
