I agree with your sentiment, especially about the plastic waste that threatens our oceans, which is horrific. But I think we should try to tackle this problem at source. Manufacturers try their hardest to get us to upgrade our computer equipment, cars, white goods – all kinds of things. It's known as planned obsolescence. If things were built to last, we wouldn't have this pending catastrophe.
