Fantastic article! We are making activated charcoal with a rudimentary gasifier (built from scrap metal) ... I wonder if they have the same properties?

My understanding is if it is charcoal, it can become biochar once the bio component is in there :) But from listening to the interview I linked at the top of the post, there is a heat component too. Depending on the temperatures the char is made it may be more or less effective. Also just curious, what are you making the activated charcoal for? I don't know much about it.

Coincidentally I just heard a podcast where they mentioned that activated charcoal makes the BEST biochar because it is finer granules and has more surface space available for organisms to populate. Nice!
