My understanding is if it is charcoal, it can become biochar once the bio component is in there :) But from listening to the interview I linked at the top of the post, there is a heat component too. Depending on the temperatures the char is made it may be more or less effective. Also just curious, what are you making the activated charcoal for? I don't know much about it.
