Mother Nature - Her fury

She danced with all her power
they could feel her might
she was 'done' with all the troubles she had faced till now
she would no longer take any of it
a woman was patient
she was after all the mother of all
she bore the difficulties hoping
that one day, normalcy would return
things got worse
the planet was looted
poisonous fumes choked all
the creatures of the sea were killed
the birds in the sky fell dead
the plants and trees were felled
and all for the sake of paper money

she screamed in anger

the waters rose

she had risen
no more would she tolerate
men had been killed because they fought in the name of the almighty
and because they were of different faiths and color
she rose because she could not tolerate
small children were molested
innocents were abused
she could not take it anymore

nature's fury was felt by all

nothing could be done
the volcanoes burst
mountains shook
people ran
the 'good' escaped

and a new phase began

Note - This is just a reminder to all not to plunder mother Earth in the name of modernization. Why does man fight with his own kind in the name of God, race, color, ego, and lust?

I write poems to express myself. I started writing at the age of twelve or so and some of my poems were published in magazines for children, a time when print still ruled the world. The internet and the blogging world has helped me write poems. Most of it was as I wrote earlier, to express myself and my thoughts. I have also been a ghostwriter.

Steemit has helped me write with freedom and also earned me very good friends who encourage me to write. I hope my readers will support me and also join in this contest. I am not a student of literature and so I do not consider myself an expert in poetry. It is the judge who will decide.
