A professor stood before his class of 40 final year students. The students were all sited waiting to write their final exam. Before handing them the final exam paper he said, ’I have been privileged to be your lecture this semester, and I know just how had you all have prepared for this exam. I also know most of you are going to pursue your masters or even heading for a lucrative job next year. I am aware of the much pressure you all are under to finish with good grades and having the best results.
Because I am very confident that you all have studied and fully understand the content of this course, so I’m prepared to offer an automatic ‘B’ to anyone who saves us the time and skips this final exam. The sigh of great relief was very audible. A number of student over joyed and full of smiles jumped up from their seats, thanked the professor for the opportunity he had thrown them, ’Are there any others?’ he asked. ‘This is your very last chance.’ More students decided to join.
Okay he said, he then started handing out the final exam papers to the students present. The exam papers contained a two line sentence written on them. It reads ‘Congratulation you have just received an A in this course.’
This was a just reward for the students who had worked hard and also believed in themselves.
