  • Foundational Teaching #1 - Jesus Christ did not come... to bring a religion.
Christ came to bring/ announce a KINGDOM.... The Kingdom of God and the laws and principles that govern... in His kingdom (how things operate/ succeed).
    Every kingdom.... has a King.
What the King says.... GOES/ is DONE... if you want to be a part of that kingdom.

We have been "religioned" and "churched" to death... but for the most part... we have not been DISCIPLED (how the Kingdom works and our assignment in it)... which is what Christ told us to make.
Once you understand this... you will be able to discern the difference between "preachers" who spout a bunch of "spiritual feel-good mumbo jumbo CRAP" at you... and those sent from God who teach you the Word... and how He applies in the world.

As always... see comments. Suggested Study always listed at the end of last comment.

Thank you...

  • ---- This has been my reply to teachers and students over the years who, like someone programmed them... repeatedly tell me, "We are not allowed to talk about religion at school."
I say, "What do you mean, you are not ALLOWED?!! What kinda crap is that?
    This ain't kindergarten man.
I went and served 8 years to keep this country FREE and defend our constitution from such enemies... both foreign AND DOMESTIC... just so you CAN talk about it.
So did many of my brothers and sisters... some of whom gave their life.
    Stand UP!!

We live in a FREE country, and even "IF" it were religion, the constitution says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion... and NO law prohibiting the FREE exercise thereof."
That means... you CAN talk about it.
I went and fought for you... so YOU CAN TALK about it.

I've asked middle and high school students in every classroom I've been in, "Is separation of church and state in the constitution?"
    The majority tell me yes.
You see... this is the LIE... that has been perpetuated.
I say, "No it ain't. Thomas Jefferson wrote it in a personal letter and it was meant to keep the state OUT OF the church... NOT the church out of the state.... backing up the constitution's law.

I've noticed over the years, the majority of people want you to come to church, when instead... they should be asking you to come to God.
Or they brag about their church.... instead of teaching people about their God.
One is a couple of times a week... the other is 24/7/365.
We ARE the church... so how do you COME to church?

Being a Christian is not an experience... it is a LIFESTYLE... for eternity.
My brother Joshua says, "It's not religion... it's a relationship. Make sure you have one."
I am afraid many have confused the church with God.
They think the church... IS God.

    I call it.... "playing church".
You go in, sing a couple of songs.... pay for the movie, watch the movie... sing a couple more songs, go home.
I ain't got time... to play church.

They have confused religion/ traditions (what they think or believe) with the Word (what God says).
They have confused the law of God.... with the love of God.

The problem with this is... it can quickly turn into idolatry, and God becomes made in our image... instead of us being made in His.
It's only when you get into the Word... and not some daily devotional... that you start to understand this.

Many ask me, "What demonination are you, Anthony?"
    Ahhahahaha.
A lot of times I'll say, "Ahmmm, I like'em all... but I like denominations of fifties and hundreds the best."
At other times, depending on the Spirit, I say, "Christian" or "the Spirit blows where He will".
They look at me funny... like I have just said something alien.

They say, "No. I meant, baptist, methodist, pentacostal or..."
I say, "I know what you meant. I just can't find any in the Word.
They are divisions... and that is EXACTLY what they cause.... DIVISION (Matthew 12).
See, they try to classify/ separate you and put you in a little box... and the children of the Spirit, just like the wind, will not be tamed (John 3).

    The schools do the same.
That's where the churches learned it from... cause they all went through the same godless school system.
We are to be ONE (John 15).
It is majoring in the minors... and causes confusion, which is of satan.
It comes from being trained by a godless school system.... which teaches and therefore causes division.

How can you learn Godly principles/ laws of success... from a godless system?
The only thing a godless system can teach you.... is how to be GODLESS."

Americans know NOTHING about a kingdom... because they live in a republic with a democratic voting process.
Many think we live in a democracy... but our founding fathers realized it was the worst form of government there is.
Therefore they think they get to vote in the Kingdom, or their opinion counts.

We are called "Ambassadors" for Christ.

Myles Munroe is the best I have seen at teaching what this and the Kingdom means, because he lived it.
    He was an awesome teacher.
He grew up in the Bahamas and at the time they were under British rule.
So what Britain did.... was send an Ambassador to the Bahamas to train them how the "Kingdom" operated.
They were taught British laws, protocol and customs... to wear suits in the summer...to drink tea in the afternoon and drive on the left hand side of the road.

In short, they were trained to MIRROR or copycat... the ruling country.

We as Christ's Ambassadors are to do the same.
This is the essence of, "Your Kingdom come.... Your will be done, on earth as IT (already) IS in heaven.

What I suggest is we better get used to it now because it is how it is... how it has been and how it will always be.... in the Kingdom.
He is called Jesus Christ, the Word of God made flesh....the same yesterday, today and forever.

It really pissed God off (and I believe it really HURT Him too) when the Israelites asked for a king...because they wanted to be like the SURROUNDING nations.

    Pigs don't know... pigs stink.

Up until then...God was their King.
So He told Samuel, "Alright, go anoint Saul. But you tell'em, that he will screw them over and take the best of all their labor... including their children."
We DO have free will to obey... or disobey.
God has already decided the consequences of both. This is one reason so many are hurting in the five areas of life (FT #10).

Religion is man trying to get to God. Christ... is God coming to man. Religion is barren streams... it leaves ya thirsty.

Religion is - you go into a restaurant, order the food, you get the bill.... but you never get fed.
    I call it.... "emotional frustration."
Getcha all jacked up and you're frustrated... til the next time they getcha all jacked up.
But they give ya no direction.... like the cowboy who jumped on his horse and rode off in all different directions.
    NO MENTORSHIP.
Praising God all the way to church, and crying all the way to the house... because we still got the problems we had.... when we went to church.

Ministry is OUTSIDE the building....not inside.
Stop "going to church"... and START. BEING. THE. CHURCH.
Christ saved His harshest criticism for the religious/ church folk.
    (Ezek.33-34... Jeremiah 23... Matthew 23... Matthew 25.... Luke 19:11-27.... Deuteronomy 28... Leviticus 26...)
It's one thing to be praising God when things are going wrong and you are being obedient... but you know, I have found that the majority of people are "praising" God and at the same time are... disobedient.

This is the reason Saul lost the kingdom... and it was given to David. Samuel told Saul, "God said I desire obedience... not sacrifice."
People call it worship... or the sacrifice of praise.
For more in depth details, feel free to contact me.
    Any ?'s... write them down.
A short note... beats the heck out of a long memory.
    Love y'all.... Anthony

Your article is insightful. Nowadays, many religions have changed a lot and lost their original purpose. As a christian, I have to agree that we are going to BE THE CHURCH instead of just going to the church, doing some routine things which just sounds like rituals to me, and just being no different from others from the world once stepping out of the church . We should change ourselves and reborn as the image of Christ, as least trying to be more alike. But honestly I don't know what to do to transform the church back to the way it should be, or it's already too difficult for me to change myself.

Thank you for your feedback... when I first went into ministry in 2000 I tried to change the church... but the more I studied (FT #2 - posting today)... the more I understood that Jesus saved his harshest criticism for the "church folk". I then got about following Christ... instead of going to church. I hope you have a great week... and I would appreciate a follow.
    Thanks...
    Anthony
