Benchmark for Successful Development
One of the obvious things, therefore, is that the solutions
the answer to our problems can not always be diso-
dor it in the economic framework only.
According to Eugene Staley, a successful development benchmark
in developing countries, such as Indonesia, are:

1. Higher and more equitable production and income levels.
2. Progress in self-governing, self-
   tap, and at the same time responsive to needs and
   the will of the people.
3. The growth of democratic social relations, including freedom
   expanding, opportunities for development
   self, and respect for the individual personality.
4. Not easily exposed to communism and other totalitarianism,
   for the reasons mentioned above.
   
   With this basic assessment as the background, then the
