Today was the contest and ...
I am absolutely satisfied with the work we have done, in the presentation in front of about 200 parents.
We have not been the chosen project but we have played the game in style.
On the other hand I feel very sad, not for not having been the winners but for how people let themselves be manipulated, it's something that never ceases to amaze me...
In my first post:
Contest Rules:
We have been pre-selected 4 companies.
Each company has a maximum of 20 minutes to expose their project to the parents of the students of that school (kids from 3 to 12 old).
The messages of the companies has been:
Company 1: FOOD 100% ECO
Company 2: YOUR KIDS WILL BE AT SCHOOL LIKE HOME
Company 3: OUR COMPANY IS HUGE, SO WE HAVE HUGE RESOURCES
Company 4: FAITH AND GOD FEED OUR CHILDEN
And the Oscar goes to....
Company 1: FOOD 100% ECO
and why i say i feel sad? i feel sad because this firm got 80% of votes, and who the fuck belives that a company can provide food 100% eco for $2 day...
It's already crazy to provide regular daily food for $2... These parents voting don't buy ECO food in their houses? don't they know that any ECO product is arround +40% to+100%? seems no they don't know...
i wish i had time and enough resources to show them, that the company 1 is just telling lies.... but hey... Ignorance is very daring
Anyways i'm very happy with my team and with the presentation style we performed, has been a TED style with 4 speakers from my tema included myself during 20m, arround 5m each one
This was the first time we tried a TED style and i love it!
Next time we will do better and more ECO lol :)

Disculparme que me exprese en castellano, pero en inglés no seré capaz de expresar el mensaje con la concreción suficiente.
Que los padres prefieran auto-engañarse pensando que les darán comida ecológica (que de promedio en dieta completa incrementa el coste en más del 50%), a precio de comedor de cole me parece bastante ridículo, pero es un debate que creo nos llevaría a mucha reflexión.
@beiker, sabes perfectamente que soy auditor y asesor de la industria alimentaria, y estoy especialmente involucrado laboralmente en el control y la certificación de la producción ecológica, integrada o de alta seguridad alimentaria (ISO 22.000/ IFS/ BRC) en la producción primaria de alimentos.
Entre mis tareas esta la del control del servicio a colectividades (o sea comedores). Te aseguro que es totalmente IMPOSSIBLE introducir alimentos ecológicos para colectividades sin incrementar el precio un MINIMO de un 30% sobre el producto, a parte no me puedo creer que sean capaces de demostrar en auditoria (realizada por un profesional y con la metodología adecuada) la trazabilidad ecológica de todos sus menús como ecológicos (compensados nutricionalmente), IMPOSIBLE hoy en el estado español. Para la escuela concertada inalcanzable (con comedores a 170€/mes) en la publica ni soñarlo (desconozco el caso pero en ambos no salen los numeros)
Deberían poder demostrar en auditoría independiente, lo que dicen acreditar, y conociendo el sector dudo que estén capacitados para hacerlo.
Otro tema seria valorar si lo que nos interesa en el comedor de nuestro hijos es que la alimentación sea ecológica, o que el producto sea de orígenes seguros, o que funcionen los mecanismos de autocontrol, o que los manipuladores tengan la capacitación necesaria para operar con los alimentos, que exista un control de productos almacenados, que se conserven las cadenas de temperatura en las operaciones,….esto sería otro tema.

Creo que en vez de un especialista en presentaciones deberíamos haber contratado tus servicios... aunque lamentablemente tampoco hubiese servido de mucho ya que estos "concursos" ya están dados de antemano..:/

It is not possible to provide any kind of food for that amount of money. Neither good nor bad.
And something being "eco" doesn't make it better. The same way gluten-free food doesn't make it healthy.

I'd bet all those parents were just hungry, it's like going to the supermarket when you're hungry, you end up buying a lot of crap you don't need.
But, seriously, most parents just want other people to take care of their kids so they can "be free" in this case they probably thougth that they don't need to worry anymore about their kids nutrition, that's the school job now.
