Learning and Earning week 12 - @matkodurko's [Learn & Earn] challengesteemCreated with Sketch.

My twelfth week of @matkodurko's What did I learn yesterday? #learnandearn challenge, based on an idea by Tim Ferriss ('Tools of Titans' book).
Learn & Earn Week 16

I spent the week re-learning some Oracle SQL, but also important stuff, like...

  • Tuesday 12th Following on from last week's sheep rustling, goat rustling is happening in California.
"The Fresno County sheriff’s agricultural task force says there have been seven reports of goats being stolen between Jan. 9 and March 7. In all, 61 goats worth $27,000 have been taken from private properties south."
So, next time you're sitting in a Fresno bar and a guy comes in trying to sell you cheap DVDs, ask if he has any goats on him.

  • Wednesday 13th - Death metal makes you happy.
Well, good death metal makes me happy.
The nice, well-adjusted people of Australia's Macquarie University have been looking at music psychology, and found what we all knew anyway - violent music does not desensitize the listener to violence.
Which makes me wonder - with the resurgence of vinyl buying in the hipster community, how long before a beardy bloke in a beany goes on a rampage due to the backwards-masking messages in his new Sun Kil Moon LP?

  • Saturday 16th: The world's shortest motorway runs one metre. It's in Romania.
"Fed up with the sparse motorway network in his home region of Moldavia, Stefan Mandachi, a 33-year-old who owns a chain of fast-food restaurants, privately commissioned the tiny motorway at a personal cost of £3,800 (€4,400; $5,000).
Romania has one of the shortest motorway networks in the European Union, with just 806km (500 miles) throughout the whole country. This despite having a land mass almost equal to that of the UK."
Needless to say, the media scrum over the motorway's opening caused major traffic jams.

I think whatever music you like can make you happy. There's no one type to suit everyone and some like intense noise.

Oh yeah! I'm guessing that was John Zorn & Co. More of that please!

It is. I never saw him live, but I went to a gig by the drummer and some others that was one of the strangest I have witnessed.

Romania not only has one of the shortest but it is also bad, therefore Germany has a lot but roadworks for at least 14 years and it never ends.
